Indian Almond made up 40% of tree planted in Hanoi metropolitan. They are famous for their shade, sturdy branches and beautiful green color in mid-summer. Their familiarity serves as a reminder of Hanoi beauty, as well as the main inspiration for this next piece.

 

In order to translate the organic beauty of the Indian almond plant, I decided to return to the lost wax casting method. After being casted in sterling silver, the piece then oxidised to black, then cover in various coats of enamel paints. This coating technique allow the necklace to embody the youthful and vibrant outlook of the Indian Almond during summer day.
