ARTIST STATEMENT
My making philosophy involves combining my love of industrial mechanisms to explore themes of technological advancement, body dysmorphia, nostalgia, and the social and economic change of Vietnam and contemporary society. I am especially interested in mechanify organic images such as the human body, animals, and plants to demonstrate the rapid takeover of technology toward human evolution, heritage value, and society morals. In most of my works, tactile movement plays a major role, allowing the work to be open, closed, collapsed, unfurled, and transited into different modes. By allowing users to interact with the object movement, I encourage them to form a sense of curiosity and fascination with my works.
Through the process of merging the old and the new, I seek to reflect on the desire to preserve my country's traditional values and, at the same time, my willingness to embrace the unpredictable future of our ever-changing world.
